Tim Harrington of Les Savy Fav hosts his own show on Pitchfork.tv. From a Les Savy Fav bulletin: “What more can we say but get your duff over there toot suite and watch some episodes!”
So, go do it.
Hey, we’ve got some new tricks we’re working on here at the Noodle. We will be diligently working on said tricks for the next few days but will still try and keep you posted on what’s going on in the music realm… or at least with bands we care about. The new technology we’ll be adding is pretty exciting. When I showed a version of it to Andy, he said, “This is pretty exciting.” We’ll keep you in the loop.
Hear The Raconteurs perform live on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic with host Nic Harcourt on November 10th at 11:15 am PST. Log on HERE or tune in to KCRW 89.9 FM if you reside in the greater Los Angeles area.
Just wanted to let you know there are some lovely new shirts from Panda Bear available.
On MySpace’s “Front to Back” Ben Fold Five reunites to perform The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner. Plus, Death Cab For Cutie’s Chris Walla sits down for a chat. It will be interesting to see what sort of line ups the super-power MySpace chooses to showcase on this new “Front to Back” series. It could be an opportunity to give some new artists some much needed exposure or they could stick to the… well… Ben Folds and Death Cab’s of the music realm.
See the vid after the jump.
So you like Rocket From The Crypt, or maybe Hot Snakes, then it’s time to check out The Night Marchers (if you haven’t already). We just got word that they have a nice little offer from Vagrant Records right now for their newest release, See You In Magic, and a T-Shirt for just 10 bucks. (Link to get it.)
Free MP3: I Wanna Deadbeat You
UPDATE: Ok, after the jump, the vid for “I Wanna Deadbeat You”.
November 4th is so far away… and if you, like myself, need to get your voting jollies off sooner, try to think of someone less attractive, or a sports game, or unattractive people playing sports. And if that doesn’t work, vote for music videos! A tip of the hat and a respectful nod is due when things are done well. No Age deserves such gesture-cred with their video for “Eraser.” From Sub Pop:”Dean and Randy from No Age have been nominated in the “Left Field” category of the mtvU Woodie Awards for their awesome video for ‘Eraser’.” “Awesome” is spot on, anyone who gets doused with flour and rocks the guitar gets dubbed “awesome.” Your voice can be heard, Power to the People!!! Vote now.

Stephen John Kalinich, the first artist to be signed to Brother Records, the Beach Boys’ record label, is going to release his 1969’s A World Of Peace Must Come through Light In The Attic Records. A World Of Peace… is considered to be “an album of music and psych-poetry” (per Light In The Attic). Kalinich, a reported close friend of Brian Wilson who co-produced A World Of Peace…, was an impregnable advocate for peace in the 60’s. The website has a link for a free mp3 but it seems to be a broken link… however, if you dig around enough, you can find anything:

“Be Still” by Stephen John Kalinich from Light In The Attic Records
Jay Reatard, a recent guest of Fay Buzzard and Jeremy Warmsley’s Welcome to our TV Show, rockin’ a living room:
If you’ve never heard of him, you should check him out:
A French museum has found a previously unknown piece of music handwritten by Mozart, a researcher said Thursday. The 18th century melody sketch is missing the harmony and instrumentation but was described as important find. (Source: MSN)
You can read more here. Mozart doesn’t have a very up-to-date MySpace page, but he does have a very nice, thorough this.
Rusted Noodle has been in the works for almost a year (talking and planning). We’ve been programming and designing for the last 6 months… we have a lot in store! We’ve been adding old and new pieces to the site as we worked out bugs and such within the private, beta version. Tonight we’ll make the site public but won’t be pushing it as much as we plan to. Please, if you see anything that doesn’t work quite right, please let us know.
Great news, Sonic Youth is going back into the studio, thanks to Matador Records. From the Matablog:
After rampant speculation, Matador Records can confirm the label will be releasing a new studio album from Sonic Youth sometime in 2009. Having fulfilled their contractual obligations to the Universal Music Group, Sonic Youth recently reached an agreement with Matador to release the band’s 16th album of new material in all worldwide territories, save for Japan. (via Matablog)
Our apologies go out to Japan. Read more about the news here and here.
